Spring has sprung and there’s no better time to be considering your next campervan destination than in the leadup to the end of the year and the Summer holidays that are just around the corner. No matter if you’ve recently purchased a campervan or motorhome or if it’s something that’s been in your family for a while, there are a host of stunning destinations to visit on holidays assuming you have access to food, water and fuel. Sydney To Melbourne

The drive from Sydney to Melbourne will be possible post-COVID-19. The journey is just over 1300km in length and offers several fantastic stopover locations that make a holiday of this variety all the more worthwhile. Just south of Wollongong lies Kiama and the famous blowhole. Jervis Bay and it’s sparkling white sand is located just over 3 hours South of Sydney and is home to some beautiful natural features that should surely be appreciated on any road trip to Melbourne. Narooma and Mallacoota are located just a little further South of the bay. These two towns are home to some great wildlife like fur seals and little penguins. Tilba Tilba should be seen for its food on the way to Wilsons Promotory – the great southern tip of Australia. From there, Phillip Island is a great day trip destination full of snorkeling and marine life. The Mornington Peninsula will be your last destination before arriving at Melbourne. It’s fur seal colony and military ruins can be explored before your final night’s sleep in your campervan or motorhome. The entire trip should take about 8 days if driving, given one night spent at each of the towns aforementioned.

Sydney to Brisbane

Driving in the opposite direction to that described in the last paragraph will set you asunder on a road trip to remember. On the way North to Brisbane, you should certainly check out the port and sand dunes located at Newcastle and Port Stephens, respectively. Following on, the dolphins at Forster would add a desirable element to any road trip along with observation of one or more of the areas many beaches. Next, Port Macquarie offers a koala hospital experience of the highest quality. The experiences available at the Big Banana of Coffs Harbour are destined to impress as are the music and art of Byron Bay, which is the next stop on your Sydney to Brisbane road trip. The Gold Coast offers much in way of fine dining and drinking experiences and Brisbane itself is home to a plethora of river-based activities and popular tourist hotspots. If you spend a night at each one of these stops, your trip will take you eight days total.
